Melissa became the Executive Director of YouthBASE in January 2022. She brings 18 years of experience in nonprofit management and development working with a broad range of organizations, including education initiatives. Prior to working with YouthBASE, Huff held development roles at Greenville Center for Creative Arts, Miracle Hill Ministries and Hispanic Alliance. She has also directed the iMAGINE Upstate STEAM Festival of Clemson University and BOOST education initiative at the United Way of Greenville County. Melissa holds a master’s degree in social sciences from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Samford University. She and her husband and their two daughters live in the Sans Souci neighborhood of Greenville. Melissa enjoys reading, trips to Asheville, NC and the Blue Ridge Mountains, hiking, and a good charcuterie board.
Café de Madres Coordinator
Logan Chandler is excited to coordinate Cafe de Madres this year! She is a Charleston native who learned Spanish in Chile, but now calls Greenville home. She was a school counselor for three years and loves everything related to children and families! She spends most of her time chasing her two children, and fits in her favorite hobbies reading and hiking when she can.
Rosa started working with YouthBASE as a volunteer in 2019 and joined the staff in 2020. She holds a B.S. in Biology from Shenandoah University and prior to joining the team at YouthBASE, worked for 10+ years in the environmental education field. She loves teaching and is always looking for ways to incorporate her science background into her work at YouthBASE. Rosa lives in Greenville with her husband and enjoys hiking, trips to the coast, crossword puzzles, and good coffee.
Cierra joined YouthBASE as a Lead Teacher for summer 2022. She grew up in Laurens County, SC and holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from SC State University and an Associate’s of Arts in Psychology from Spartanburg Methodist College. Cierra is passionate about building supportive relationships with children to help them feel understood and reach their fullest potential. Previously, she served as a Teachers Assistant at Legacy Early College and a Substitute Teacher at Laurens District 55 as well as providing behavioral therapy for children with autism and other special needs. In her spare time, she enjoys singing and playing with her 11-month-old son.
